Recommended Products are products I use:
Ray Hughes, the guy who made my smallpipes and one of my practice chanters.
Truly an artist when it comes to craftsmanship and external appearance of the bagpipes, as you can see below. Makes the best sounding practice chanter I've ever played.
Murray Huggins, maker of Colin Kyo bagpipes.
Our band switched from oval holed McCallum to Colin Kyo because it is such an excellent chanter. Smaller finger spread, smaller holes, easy to tune with almost any reed, doesn't suffer from high G grace note chanter squeak even with the hole half taped (if using a poorly suited reed), and in general has a well balanced scale regardless of reed.
Chris Apps pipe chanter reeds.
The G3 is a great straight cut reed available in very specific strengths based on a quantitative scale in inches of water, as opposed to the qualitative and subjective "easy, medium, or hard."
Truly, the only Bagpipe related bookmark you'll ever need.
