Massive Storm -> Lots of Hail = ICE!

April 16th, 2009

So, it hailed really bad and Calista immediately identified it as ice, which she loves to eat!

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

April 12th, 2009

So, Calista has started singing! Probably instigated by the potty training doll that sings “la la la la la la”. Well, we have for your listening pleasure, “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” by The McLaurin Family. Patrick has the worst tonal quality, but sort of knows where the notes are, Latisha has a lovely voice, but no idea where the notes are (though she’s getting a lot better!), and Calista, who only knows the chorus.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

This would be the second song released by members of The McLaurin Family. Their first foray into producing “music” was a cover of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’, “Free Fallin’,” performed by Patrick and Sarah in their younger years.

Free Fallin’

All members of the most recent incarnation of the The McLaurin Family are currently working on some instrumental pieces to be added in the future.

The Busby Family, who have yet to be coerced into the recording studio (Sarah left The McLaurin Family for The Busby Family back in 2008), came to visit us Lubbockites a week after we went to visit them. The little boogers had a ton of fun playing!

Calista came home from daycare the Friday of Spring Break having poured melted ice cream on her hair. So we gave her her favorite snack, cookies!

Calista has also started talking a lot more.

neendough = window

numi nac = gummi snack

We also teeteed in the potty for the first time after being displaced from the bath tub. Yea!

Lots to add!

March 10th, 2009

This will try to be in order, newest at the top of the post.

We went to Coppell to visit Clark, Conall, and Sarah. We also went to the North Texas Irish Festival. And stupid me, we visited our great gradma Alvina Ayers (Mammaw) but forgot to take pictures. :op

Pockets, Christmas, and a new Baby!

January 3rd, 2009

Toward the beginning of December Calista found her pockets!

101_1411

At the end of December we were with Latisha’s parents, Nanna and Poppy, and her two brothers, Uncle Aaron and Jeremy.

Jeremy was working or very ill so we didn’t get any pictures with him :o(

I found one! Thanks to Lionel (Poppy).

Calista got a baby doll for Christmas and was rocking it this morning all by herself. She’s ready to be a mommy! NOT

Da McLaurins and Busbys!

December 2nd, 2008

So, Sarah, Conall, and Clark were in town back when it was warmer and Sarah got us all in the portrait studio. All I remember is that Conall and I went to a nearby MacDonalds and each got an ice cream. They looked like someone took a white dump on an ice cream cone. Ta da:

Our Little Highlander

November 23rd, 2008

So we went to Abilene for Sara(h?) and Chaz’s wedding. Nana bought Calista a plaid outfit with skirt, shirt, and hat and we coupled it with some hose and black shoes. She looked like a little highlander running around screaming!

Here’s us running around the hotel room:

Here we are at the reception with little mint beads all over our mouth.

Andy (the wedding minister who actually did 1/2 our wedding as well), Calista, and Tish.

Dad must have been playing the bagpipes!

Here is a cute picture from a few days before the TTU game below.
